Currently not available for work

Comments (0)

Just thought I'd mention the fact that I am unavailable for hire at the moment. I get a number of requests each week, and I'm sorry to say I have to turn them down due to being involved in a project already.

So, I am glad that requests are being made, and I do thank you for them, but for now and about a month I am unavailable to take more on.

Will make a statement when available again.

Patric.

Piecemaker2

Comments (0)

In my search for fun stuff on the web, I came across the Piecemaker2 made by Modularweb. It is, as the name implies, a newer version of their previous image rotator. Now called an "An open source Flash Actionscript 3D image rotator" - just that is rather cool, I think. It is free for almost any use (even commersial) under the MIT license.

It now supports, not only images, but also Flash, videofiles and of course HTML content. And it does also include unlimited transition effects, improved navigation (using tooltips) and animated shadows. It’s also entirely XML-based, and the HTML/CSS parsing has been improved, allowing special characters to be used. Plus, images can now contain hyperlinks to other websites. This piece of script is easily implemented onto your site, and works without hussle. Read the documentation for further insight on this. Cool stuff ;)

My being away...

Comments (1)

Okidoki... Here's a guy who's studied hard for a while now. I've been attending EPN, a school for ATS personell. It is a school with international status, and have mostly students from the nordic countries, but also from other European countries aswell as some Asian one's.

I have been there since march 1'st in order to become an AFIS Officer. And it seems as if I have succeeded, come friday I have all exams passed and  I'm starting my OJT on monday morning at my new workplace, Oskarshamn Airport. It's not a big airport, nor is it much traffic, but it's a change of life, and in a really god direction for me. I'm all glad ;)

News and posts on this homepage of mine have been set to prio... 6 or something lately, due to the workload on my previous job. Don't ever go there to apply for a job, I tell you, hehe. I'm terribly sorry for any inconvenience and bad karma this might have caused. And promise I will do better from this summer onwards.

Thing is, previous job led me to overload in all aspects of the word. Had no strength left on evenings or weekends to do a thing but to try and take care of my kids and myself. Now, however, the workplace is located much closer to home, the workload is less, although much more important as it involves real lifes up in the air. I have better working hours, and a boss that actually cares about how I and my fellow comrades is feeling and doing at work...

So to sum up, I'm doing great, I will have much more time and LUST for the webby stuff here on and it feels great, yay...

Hope to see ya out there soon, and... Enjoy this wonderful summer, dude's and dudette's.

Ubuntu - New LTS version is a'coming

Comments (2)

Been "driving" Ubuntu now for about two weeks, and I'm just loving it. I did set up a dualboot as I am but a noob. I need to have the MS installation intact for just a little while longer so that I can transfer files from it onto the Ubuntu partition.

But it seems as if I'm going to be a ubuntu'ist for all future now, atleast comparing to MS - There is just no going back, plain and simple. Might not stick to Ubuntu, that's not a lifetime commitment, but as I have started with Ubuntu chances are I will hold on to that.

Things that are totally different and "scares" me the most is the filesystem, not really what i'm used to, hehe... Terminal, nah, not scary, just hard to comprehend in the beginning, but I'm beginning to sence logic in there somewhere.

When next LTS version is released... I think I'm going all Linux. No more money to Mr Gates & CO, he's got enough if you ask me.

Free is GOOD, Linux is great, Linus should be king of Finland.

What CMS should I use ?

There is a lot of discussions about what CMS is the best, and everybody have their own say on the matter. I say, it all depends on your needs.

I am speaking highly, and using both on my own site and the one's I make, of sNews CMS. sNews is a completely free, standards compliant, PHP and MySQL driven Content Management System. sNews is extremely lightweight, simple and customizable. It's easy to install, and easy to use via a simple web interface. sNews consists of only one core engine file, one independent template file and its accompanying CSS stylesheet file, plus an .htaccess file that makes all URLs search engine friendly.

If you have any doubts about wht CMS to choose, please try sNews CMS
