Experience the lightweight elegance!

Luka wrote it so darn good, so I just copied this...

sNews is a completely free, standards compliant, PHP and MySQL driven Content Management System. sNews is extremely lightweight, simple and customizable. It's easy to install, and easy to use via a simple web interface. sNews consists of only one core engine file, one independent template file and its accompanying CSS stylesheet file, plus an .htaccess file that makes all URLs search engine friendly.

- sNews is a Developer's Tool
sNews is suitable for developers with beginner-to-advanced PHP skills and a good working knowledge of how to work with, set up and manage MySQL databases. sNews is not geared towards the end-user who knows little or nothing about building and developing PHP-MySQL websites.

In a nutshell, sNews and its options make setting up your website structure a breeze. Using sNews, you can create a Corporate CMS or a personal blog website. You can publish dynamic pages and have a blog at the same time. sNews provides a front page option and categories (sections) to assign your content to.

- Search Engines dig sNews. Really.
sNews uses search engine friendly URLs throughout, to make your website truly loved by Google and other search engines (as well as your visitors). This makes a sNews driven site highly Search Engine Optimized from the get-go and will greatly assist in your site obtaining a good SEO ranking.

- Released under a Creative Commons License
sNews is released to the Public Domain under the Creative Commons Attribution License. It's pretty simple really. As a user of sNews, you are allowed to copy the script, modify the script, distribute and transmit the script to other people in the Public Domain. The only condition is that you leave Copyright (C) Solucija.com - sNews is licensed under a Creative Commons License in the top commented section of the snews.php file. Though it isn't necessary by law, we also ask that you retain a link-back to this website in the footer of your website if it is powered by sNews.

When a work such as sNews is released under the Creative Commons Attribution License, this means it cannot be commercialized without the expressed consent of the author, Luka Cvrk. This means you cannot modify, rebrand and sell the sNews CMS script as a commercial product by itself. You may, however, use it to power any website that is used for business purposes, including selling products or services. You may also use the sNews script to power any website you may create for a client, in which case you would not charge the client for use of the sNews CMS itself but you would charge the client for time alloted to all other services related to creating the client's project.

Thanks, Pat, looks like I've been a little bit lazy!
Didn't occur to me to search the sNews forum :)

Nicu, hey...

Current slider is not the one you are talking about. The one that was "article-ized" is the CODA SLIDER (http://p-ahlqvist.com/blog/coda-slider-111-enhanced/). Now, this article is a bit off (no script actually at work) as I did remove a lot of scripts and crap re-making the site, but I put it up again just for you, hehe

The current one being used up to the right, is a tabbed slider, I am pretty sure comes from Popoll.. Yupp, it is. Found the sNews post here: http://snewscms.com/forum/index.php?topic=8160.0

Hope that is satisfactory... As far as the Ubuntu experience, thanks, just dandy. Having a bit of a problem with the filesystem but I am getting there. Never going back to MS, thats for sure. Awaiting the 10.04 that is due in 11 days from now ;)

Hi, Pat! how's the Ubuntu experience going?
I see that you've changed a lot of things here, which kinda brings me to the main reason I'm revisiting your site: there used to be an article about the tab slider you're still using for navigation, and it contained a pretty useful set of links and a neat tutorial.
I'm missing it :P
and that's because I was planning to use it myself (in a slightly altered form and usin multiple instances). I even started some time ago and dropped work for other more pressing concerns, and now I'm in dire straits with what I altered and what not, I could really use the info you so kindly provided in that article.
It would be really nice of you to re-post it! if you still have it somewhere, that is ...
What say you? :)
